First encounter with felt

Had another art-venture and this time with felt art. Making felt toy is a lot more difficult comparing to polymer clay. But of course, felt crafts is a lot more cheaper. I only have to buy some felt sheets, polyester fibre to fill my cake, needles and some matching thread.

It's really easy to make this actually and a lot of fun but takes a lot of time in cutting and sewing especially for a needle and thread retards like me. It took me 4 hours to complete one slice of cake. I could bake a whole real yummy cake already!

Good enough to eat.

You don't need talent for this, only patience. Felt toy making is pretty intriguing and interesting. I'm looking forward to try to make more felt toys and especially if they are associated with food, they look soooooo adorable.

Here's some more useful links for felt toys crafting. So cool, aren't they? (Internet is really the number one source if you want to learn anything new.)

I make a fake...I mean felt cake

Had another art-venture and this time with felt art. Making felt toy is a lot more difficult comparing to polymer clay. But of course, felt crafts is a lot more cheaper.

Brought this DIY cake boxset(only RM4.90!!!) from Living Cabin. Nai got one too and she already finished making her cake ages ago. A bit regret that I did not buy the cupcake boxset too and the last time I went to Living Cabin again, it was already sold out.

Contents of the DIY boxset.

Not bad for a RM4.90 DIY box set, included all the felt material needed (more than enough in case I made some silly mistake, which I did), wool, templates and even needles and threads in matching colours. How cool! With the templates and everything prepared, it's easy to make this actually but takes a lot of time in cutting and sewing especially for a needle and thread retards like me.

Good enough to eat.

This took me 4 hours to finish. You don't need talent for this, only patience. Felt toy making is pretty intriguing and interesting. I'm looking forward to try to make more felt toys and especially if they are associated with food, they look soooooo adorable.

Sick....inside out

I'm sick. I'm down with flu again. My close friends (old school mates) will remember that I always make a bunch of disgusting tissue wanton every now and then. And I never got any stronger, mainly due to the never work-out body.

Not in any mood to blog actually. I'm drained. Partly from the flu and partly emotionally. My blog is no longer my feel station anymore because I couldn't showcase my feeling as free as it used to be. I'm happy to have more readers now but somehow, subconsciously this encourage me to only write about happy things.

But yesterday I was as dead as Yokie. The heart can ache so much that you thought it was dead and so many stupid thoughts can enter your head. I never had any trouble with sleeping but last night was my first bitter taste with insomnia. I was so drained out, body so tired and physically sick from the flu but I was not able to sleep. Insomnia was so horrible that I had to look at the window and waited for the skies to change from pitch black to grey to light hint of dawn. What's troubling my mind? Why do I have to give so much and take so little? Or am I asking too much? I know there's no balance sheet in love/relationship and everyone is having their own problem, so mine might not anything major. But when I'm in the middle of the problem, with sleepless night and throbbing heartache...the pain is just too unbearable. But yeah, as time goes by, the problem will minimize by itself. Ignorance is bliss? Perhaps.

I think I still can go on.

For how long?

I'm not sure.

My first art-venture with polymer clay

I always have a thing with art and crafts. KL has a lot of arts and crafts supplies store, especially at One Utama. I always wanted to try those many many different variety of arts and crafts. I always wanted to learn about oil paint, acrylic paint, glass paint and etc. Yes, is an expensive hobby but compare to photography, philately, golf, antique collecting, art-venture is not expensive at all.

I'm sooooo happy that finally in Ipoh we have a craft workshop and it's so near my place. Yayyyy. They are selling a lot of arts and crafts supplies such as acrylic paints, glass paints, fabric paints, clay etc usually not found in Ipoh. They are also offering a lot of classes such as polymer clay, Folk Art (painting on wood using acrylic), glass painting, glass etching, fabric painting and decoupage. I can't wait to learn all of them. And to my surprise that this kind of craft shop could actually attracts quite a lot of customers and I have to call to book a time for their classes. Although some are just inside the shop to look at the wonder work of crafts and the art supplies that we never knew existed but quite a number of them were actually buying!

Ok, so I start my art-venture with polymer clay. RM80 for a 2 hour class and I get a Sculpey Activity Box Kit worth RM60. I wanted to get the Clay Bear set but the last box were reserved. What a disappointment, the Clay Bears were really super cute!

Sculpey clay and tools.
Actually there's 7 colours but I finished using the brown for making the very cute bear.

My first clay babies. Aren't they super cute?
Am I talented or what? Hehe...

I still have many leftover clay and I will make something else. ~woohoo~

(And I'd waste a lot of money paying for yoga and gym classes. I never enjoy as much.)

Hello

I just spent an hour uploading my Singapore pictures into Blogger. Not going to blog about the trip now....it's already too late. But really, there's not much to blog about this business trip and I did not expect it to be as fun as the Hong Kong one. Oh well, I will talk about that tomorrow.

But anyway....just wana drop a few words here.

Finally I finished reading my first novel this year. Just nice....and I still have another 1.5 months to finish another book. I cried like cow during the few final chapters of Marley and Me. I did not realize a book can be such a tear jerker as well. How humiliating >_< Being the first paperback book for John Grogan, the tribute tale to his dog Marley were written in such a beautiful and touching way. Although I'd expected how the ending will turn out, but this did not spoil the fun and sad moment of reading this book.

I know give Nici a bear hug every night before I go to sleep.

Nici says hi. Bow wow.
